Something I've been confused about a few times is what the Savior means when the King James version of the bible records him saying "Touch me not" to Mary in John 20:17. I think I have heard before that he was saying this because he still was a spirit body and so couldn't be touched, but that is completely false because the tomb was empty. In "Jesus the Christ" Elder Talmage writes that he couldn't be touched for some unknown reason before ascending to His Father and that hasn't ever resonated with me.
So if we go back to the greek word "haptomai" that was used here a better translation for it is "cling to" or "hold on to." This makes much more sense that Christ was simply telling Mary he had important things he still had to do so he couldn't stay long in the garden with her. It is interesting that on biblehub.com a majority of the translations translated this verse correctly, but the King James version didn't. Also in the Joseph Smith translation he made this not about this verse. I am very grateful for the resources I have for study and understand the bible better in addition to the revelation from church leaders who help clarify meanins in the bible.
