There is a lot we can learn from symbolism of the Savior suffering the atonement in an olive garden. In the process of making olive oil olives are crushed by a giant millstone as it rolls throughout a stone basin. This process is repeated three times as all of the oil is extracted.
I have often wondered how the timing of the suffering in the garden played out. As I learned about the process of oil being made I saw how the giant crushing millstone can be likened to all the sins and suffering of the world coming onto the savior. As the millstone is about to pass over the Savior for the first time he recognizes the magnitude of what he is about to experience. He prays to the Father saying, "if it be possible, let this cup pass from me: nevertheless not as I will, but as thou wilt" (Matt 26:42).
There seem to be three intervals of time broken up by the Savior going to see His apostles. The Savior truly felt the weight of a millstone that was made up of all the world's sins and sufferings near the olive press. Today we use olive oil for healing and me we always allow the Savior's atonement to heal us as well.
